TIME TO SPEAK OUT ON CHRISTIAN SOLIDARITY INTERNATIONAL AND SUDAN:

An Open Letter to Anti-slavery Internatonal and Sudan

We address this open letter to Anti-Slavery International because of its well-deserved reputation as one of the world's premier human rights organisations, and its particular concern about slavery and slavery-like practices.

PREJUDICED AND DISCREDITED

Christian Solidarity International and Sudan

Christian Solidarity International (CSI) has for several years been actively involved in what the organisation has termed "slave redemption" within Sudan, whereby the organisation claimed to have been "buying back" large numbers of southern black villagers who had been taken as "slaves" by northern Sudanese forces.

On 23 March 1999, Christian Solidarity International, an organisation which describes itself as a "human rights organisation" helping those "suffering repression, victimised children and victims of disaster"
